Make-up is a choice that some people choose to partake in. It’s not a necessary part of life, and everyone is beautiful with or without makeup. For those that chose to delve in the make-up world, these are a few tips for you.
Lipstick problems? Here are some tips: Before putting lipstick on, make sure your lips aren’t chapped. Moisturize your lips before putting lipstick on with Chapstick, face lotion, or a lip moisturizer. This may seem like common sense, but it should be a necessary part of your lipstick routine. Also if you’re wearing lipstick for a long time, you should use lip liner. This prevents the color bleeding into the surrounding skin. If your lipstick does end up bleeding, use concealer to cover up any areas that show the bleeding lipstick’s color. Use lip liner a shade darker than the lipstick you’ll be wearing in order to get a dramatic lip, or a matching shade for a slightly less dramatic look.
Do you have dry skin? Use some lotion. In our cold, dry, Wisconsin winter climate, lotion is a near necessity. Cracked skin due to dryness can lead to infection, irritation, and pain. There are numerous types of lotion for all skin types, and if you don’t like the scent of lotion, there are unscented options available. Be sure to avoid lotions and face cleansers that contain ethanol as it will dry out your skin even more.
If you’re out and about for a long period of time, you might not be able to hop in the bathroom to fix your makeup. In order to prevent makeup from coming off or being smudged, use primer. Makeup primer is a substance that you put on before your other makeup. Primer makes makeup last longer by adhering the makeup to the primer itself rather than your skin. Primer also works to protect your skin from future breakouts caused by makeup since most primers now contain acne fighting medicine.
I hope that your makeup endeavors pay off well, whether or not you use these tips.
