The City that Never Sleeps

Every year, delegates from around the state look forward to coming to Madison to debate bills, deliberate cases, write article, and spend time in the beautiful capitol. The weekend of Model Gov always goes by so fast, and delegates wish that they could spend more time in Madison.

Our state has such a beautiful city that we get to call our Capitol. Madison has so much to offer that it’s almost impossible to do it all. City goers can shop up and down State Street, explore new and different restaurants, jump around at Camp Randall, and so much more. Other places to explore in Madison are the Henry Vilas Zoo, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and the many lakes in the city.

Secretary of State, Sahil Baherawala, loves coming to this city and has plans on becoming a Badger at UW Madison next year.  “I love walking around here and feeling the vibe of the city. I love that it’s in the heart of the government, and how everything is forward thinking. Just being here makes me feel at home,” he said. Some of his favorite memories here are going to the Kohls center to watch basketball, going to family graduations at the University, and going to other Badger games. He also enjoys spending time at the lake and on the terrace eating ice cream. He has friends that go to school here who are on the sailing club and they took him out on the lake, and another friend who is a pilot that flew him over the city.  Sahil has always known that he wanted to go to school here. This is the only school he applied to and he feels at home walking around campus. “This is where I want to be, I want to graduate here” he said.

This city offers endless opportunities to have a good time., weather it be Model Gov, a day spent on State Street, a Badger game at Camp Randall, or going to school here. As our SOS Sahil Baherawala said,  “Every time you come here you can do something different, you can never run out of things to do.”
