One of the most thrilling parts of YIG is running for a position. Here in Wisconsin, the delegates fund their own candidacy. The advertising of the delegate’s campaign is completely based on their personal budget. In other states such as New Jersey, Washington, and North Carolina, the entire state’s YIG program funds the candidates. These states have set budgets on the campaigns to keep everything fair for all delegates. Some states have this rule of the budget but it has never been enforced in some states such as Michigan. Would you like to have the state set budget for advertising your candidacy so that everything is completely fair in that aspect, or would you like to fund your own campaign and be viewed as independent and responsible?
